Our client is a private investment firm, investing growth capital in companies, private equity funds and private debt funds in Frontier and Emerging Markets. Our client seeks to achieve strong financial returns for its individual and institutional investors, while delivering positive social and environmental impact. The firm has a long history of investing in small to mid-market companies across Africa, Asia and Latin America, with staff in Kitchener and Amsterdam.


They are a small, entrepreneurial firm, where every person’s contribution determines their future. They now need a full-time Personal Assistant to join their team. This person will work as the executive assistant to the Managing Director (MD) of Impact Advisory and Chief Compliance Officer (CCO). We are looking for an energetic person who is smart and service-oriented. Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Personal Assistant to MD of Impact Advisory and CCO (30%):

Understand the business and pro-actively support the work of the MD; manage the MD’s calendar; arrange meetings and manage the MD’s travel; manage the MiCredito note program; manage the MD’s expense reports; provide general support to the MD

• Compliance (50%):

Complete initial investor onboarding activities including completing Know Your Client (KYC) checks as per our client's regulatory requirements and internal processes; keep investor KYC documents and other compliance requirements up to date including completing FATCA annual compliance and filing requirements; complete Thomson Reuters World Check on investors and investees; review marketing documentation for compliance; support CCO in compliance related calls and projects

• Office Management (20%):

Maintain office supplies to support Kitchener office operations; manage new staff on-boarding for all of our client's offices; manage computers and licenses, including setting up new laptops for North America; perform weekly Webroot monitoring; provide primary IT support for simple issues and escalate them to external service providers for more complex issues; assist marketing/communications officer in updating routine changes to the company website.

Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be:
• Smart, friendly, service-oriented, energetic
• A proactive problem-solver, a fast learner, a self-starter with little need of hand-holding; a strong organizer/planner
• Committed to quality; details matter to you
• Positive and upbeat even during stressful situations
• Excellent in English communication

A university undergraduate degree and international experience may be an asset

Supervisor: MD of Impact Advisory and CCO

Location: Kitchener, Canada

Salary Range: $45,000-$55,000, with potential for bonus

Expected travel: Infrequent (< 10%)
