Our client seeks to achieve strong financial returns for its individual and institutional investors, while delivering positive social and environmental impact. The firm has a long history of investing in small to mid-market companies across Africa, Emerging Europe, Asia and Latin America, with staff in Kitchener and Amsterdam.

This firm is a small, entrepreneurial firm, where every person’s contribution determines the company future. They now need a full-time Marketing and Communications Associate to join their team. This is, in many ways, a fairly senior position, but they are also open to a candidate with less experience taking on the challenge. If you are eager and outgoing, if you love the English language, if you have an eye for graphics, if you have a knack for marketing, and if you love to work hard and see results, you may be what they are looking for.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
• Write content, in impeccable and well-flowing English, for various pieces of communication:
Monthly or bi-monthly newsletters, quarterly investor reports, annual values report, marketing materials, requests for proposals from prospective investors, requests for updating of information on external platforms and more…
• Produce materials, in an attractive and communicative style:
Monthly or bi-monthly newsletters, quarterly investor reports, presentations for quarterly investor calls, annual values report, marketing materials, company website and LinkedIn profile, and more...
• Produce events, to a brand-positive and thought-leading effect:
Annual Investor Days in Washington and Amsterdam, and more…
• Develop and implement a brand-building program for the company.
This will include getting company leaders onto podia and company stories into appropriate news media. It may or may not include paid advertising and event sponsorships
• Manage and improve the company Style Guide and Lexicon
• These projects may require the outsourcing of some services to graphic designers, writers, and others

Company Values:
• Excellence & Creativity: these stand in conflict with each other; both are important
• Honesty & Integrity: these are almost the same; they can’t be compromised
• Kindness & Respect: life is too short to work with jerks!; the company seeks to encourage the best from each other

Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate will embody:
• A commitment to quality and service. The fine details matter to you
• A strong intellectual curiosity and desire to learn. You may not know much about private investment, but you are intelligent and eager to learn. You have an interest in, and aptitude for business finance
• A high level of professionalism and respect for others
